A move is stressful for pets too. A little planning keeps them calm and safe on moving day and during the journey.
Before the move
- Keep your pet's routine normal until the last day.
- Get a comfortable, ventilated carrier they're used to.
- Carry vaccination records and a recent photo.
- For long journeys, ask your vet about travel advice.
On moving day
Keep your pet in a quiet room (or with a friend) while packing and loading happen, so they don't slip out through open doors. Move their familiar bed and bowls last and set them up first at the new home.
Settling in
Introduce your pet to one room first, then the rest of the home gradually. Familiar toys and bedding help them adjust faster.
